Black Butte Cupola Docent Program – Volunteers Needed

Black Butte Cupola Docent Program – Volunteers Needed

Friends of the Metolius, working with the Sisters Ranger District, is initiating a docent program at the Cupola on Black Butte. If you’re interested in volunteering to serve as a docent, please send an email to [email protected] for more details. The docent program evolved after volunteers worked with the Forest Service in 2020 and 2021 to restore the 1920s lookout. As part of that effort, volunteers have continued to work to stage the cupola to look like a functioning lookout from the first half of the 20th century and have developed a binder of background information to assist the docents. The docent program will operate this summer on Saturdays during July and August. Obviously, a docent is required to a hike up Black Butte.

We hope to hear from you soon!
