About the Water
The Metolius Basin – captured between the high Cascades on the west, Green Ridge on the north and east, and Black Butte on the south, is defined by pure, cold water. Friends has been sampling and analyzing water in the Basin continuously since 1990. This year, with support from the Forest Service, Friends was awarded a significant grant from River Network (@RiverNetwork, @river_network, @rivernetwork) that has enabled our water testing program to be expanded to new testing locations, including tributaries, add testing for additional analytes, and increase the number of months that water sampling takes place.
